St. Mary's Parish is always looking for more volunteers for its various organizations within the church.  Take a look at the list below to see if there is a particular group that you would like to help serve the church.  As you can see, there are so many areas in which your help is always needed and appreciated.

Altar Servers
Altar Servers are needed for all Masses to assist Father.  Any student that has made his/her First Holy Communion is eligible to be an Altar Server.  If you are interested in serving, please contact Kathy Popich at 412-221-8709.

Altar Society 2000
Altar Society 2000 is an organization for the ladies of the Parish 18 and over.  The group meets every third Monday of the month in the Church Hall.  The Altar Society 2000 holds many fundraisers throughout the year, including bingos.  The Society welcomes new members.  For more information, contact the Parish Office at 412-221-1560.
 
Bowling League
St. Mary's Bowling League is a mixed league of singles and couples who bowl every Tuesday from September through Arpril at 6:30 p.m. in the SNPJ Bowling Alleys in Sygan.  New bowlers are always welcome!  If you would like to bowl with a group of
fun-loving people in a SMOKE FREE environment, contact Ursala Wauthier at

Choir
Can you sing?  Then we would like to have you join us!  The Choir is run by Lori Rathbone and she is always looking for new members.  For more information contact the Parish Office at 412-221-1560.

Eucharistic Ministers
Eucharistic Ministers assist Father with the distribution of the Holy Eucharist at each Mass.  Ministers are always needed, and if you would like to become one or would like more information, contact Kathy Popich at 412-221-8709.

Hill Toppers
The St. Mary's Hilltoppers is for the Parish member 55 and over.  Meetings are every other week of the month on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m except for December.  No meetings in January or February.

Lectors
Lectors serve at all of the Masses, reading the weekly Liturgy.  Lectors are always needed and welcome.  For more information or to volunteer to be a Lector at a particular Mass, contact the designated person below, or the Parish Office at 412-221-1560.

Lenten Fish Fry
 Lenten Fish Fries (lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and dinner from 4 - 7:30 p.m.) begin on Ash Wednesday, and every Friday during Lent. A lot of volunteers are needed for a successful Fish Fry!  Any amount of time you can volunteer for this important event is very appreciated.  For more information or if you would like to volunteer at one of the weekly fish fries, please call the Parish Office at 412-221-1560 Monday thru Thursday or the Church Hall at 412-221-9771 from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. on Fridays Only during Lent.
                                                                      
Legion of Mary
The Legion of Mary meets every Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. in the Marian Room of the Rectory.  Working for and with others can give a new meaning to your life.  All are welcome to join.  Please notify the Legion of Mary whenever a St. Mary's parishioner dies, or if you are a shut-in and would like the Legion of Mary to visit.  Call the Parish Office with your situation at 412-221-1560.

Men's Club
St. Mary's Men's Club meets every 2nd Monday of the month in the church hall.  The Men's club holds various fundraisers during the year, including the Annual Golf Outing in the summer.  All males 18 and over are encouraged to join the Men's Club.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is composed of women and men who seek their personal holiness by works of charity.  This is one essential way that the society, therefore, differs from other charitable associations or agencies.  Their principal objective is not the spiritual advancement of their members as such, but the doing of good for someone.  If you would like to assist the St. Mary St. Vincent de Paul Society, or would like more information, please contact the Parish Office at 412-221-1560.

Ushers & Greeters
Four Ushers and a Greeter(s) serve at each Mass.  A Greeter(s) welcomes members and visitors before Mass, passing out bulletins.  Ushers are needed to take the collection during Mass. Ushers and Greeters are always needed at each Mass, especially the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass.  Families are encouraged to serve as Ushers or Greeters.  This is a very simple but important way to serve the church!  If you are able to volunteer for either of these important roles, please contact the Parish Office
