Those persons over 14 years of age are obliged to abstain
(refrain from eating meat) on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday and
Fridays in Lent.
Fasting (limiting oneself to one full meal and two lighter ones) are
for those 18-59 years of age. We should take this obligation seriously.
During Lent we are called to acts of penance and charity beyond
what is prescribed.
